The Designated Service Extrovert Program is designed to pair eligible introverts or ambiverts with a Designated Service Extrovert based on each person's unique profile. It has been developed over years of working with a diverse panel of introverts, recognizing their various individual needs and boundaries.

What's a DSE?

For introverts and many ambiverts, human interaction is a tiring, or even anxiety-inducing, necessity. A Designated Service Extrovert, or DSE, helps relieve some of that stress and exhaustion by offloading some human interaction, whether via performing tasks in their place or ensuring they have a peaceful and relaxing environment.

What Does a DSE Do?

Designated Service Extroverts can perform all kinds of human interaction tasks! Things like:

• Introduce you to new friends
• Make phone calls on your behalf
• Ask questions, notify the staff of issues, or even order for you at restaurants
• Disengage or dismiss pushy salespeople
• Quickly and quietly escort you from loud, awkward, or exhausting situations
• Sit with you quietly, either physically or virtually, while you do individual tasks or activities

Is this actually a real program?

Formally, no.

But it's still very real in a lot of ways! Yes, you can absolutely still have a DSE and they are happy to help you with human interaction tasks. But the core spirit of the DSE program is about community, which means working together and looking out for each other. We all need help at times and this is one of many ways we can do that. And if we can have a little fun in the meantime, that's even better.
